The second category is the one who have discovered recently that they snore. Whichever category you belong to, you are looking for a solution that will actually work. You have many questions in your mind.

You must have heard about stop snoring mouthpieces. Stop-Snoring devices generally fall into two types:

  • Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD)
  • Tongue Retaining Device (TRD)

MADs are devices that hold your jaw in a forward position. These devices are supposed to be worn in the mouth like those mouthpieces worn by boxers.

One drawback of MAD’S is that they can be uncomfortable during the first few nights and they have to be made according to your mouth measurement. They will also damage your jaw joint and loosen your front teeth in the long term.

Tongue Retaining Devices (TRD)

TRDs are not as popular as MAD, as they have not been in the market that long, but that does not make them any less effective. They are a highly effective solution to the problem of snoring, and have emerged as a boon to snorers and their partners.

In contrast to MAD that holds your jaw forward, a TRD works by holding your tongue forward. Many people snore just because their tongue blocks their airway during sleep. TRDs have small elements which hold the tongue in place, thereby letting the body get the oxygen that it needs.

The market is flooded with all manner of stop snoring devices, but stop snoring mouthpieces are the best option. If you get one of good quality that fits properly, then there could be nothing like it.
